Needs Assessment - Community Input Needed

posted May 8, 2017, 9:58 AM by Joe Hegland

Five years ago we worked together as a school and community to develop a Vision for our schools.  We identified priorities in the areas of Relationships, Challenging Academics, and 21st Century Skills.  We continue to work toward that Vision every day, but now it is time to take a deeper look to determine how we are progressing and identify our next steps.

This year we are working to update our Strategic Objectives within our Vision, so we are seeking multiple sources of input and feedback from our community. We have already conducted a needs assessment survey in which we sought input from our staff, students, and our community; we have invited the community to become a “Student for a Day”; and we continue to work with our leadership teams to identify strengths and needs as well.

We have compiled all of this information to identify our greatest strengths and direction for the future.  As a community member, your input is very important to us.  We would like to invite you to participate in a community meeting in which we will present our preliminary findings and ask for your ideas of what else is needed.

Our discussion will be May 18, 2017, from 5:30-7:00 in conjunction with our School Improvement Advisory Committee meeting in the High School Media Center.
