Early Dismissal Schedule

v  Chrome Books Needed for Iowa Assessments Thursday:

ALL students will need to bring their Chrome Books fully charged with them for Iowa Assessments testing on Thursday.  Chrome Books will be used for the Writing Pilot that will be administered to all students. 


9-11 graders will be taking the Iowa Assessments on Tuesday and Thursday of this week.

Seniors - you do not need to report to school until 9:00 on Thursday, April 12th.

Please take your chrome books home TONIGHT so you have them Thursday morning.  You will need them to take surveys in regards to graduation. You will not be allowed to go to your locker to get your chrome book, so PLEASE TAKE THEM HOME TODAY!

v  ACT APRIL 14 TEST DATE: Students who are signed up to take their ACT on Saturday, April 14th at West Delaware, please remember your test ticket and photo ID. Your test ticket, photo ID and name on the roster must all match.

v  The track clothing order has been reopened until 4-16-18. Order online at  The new access code is WDHSTF2.

v  Student Council will meet in the Library at 7:30 AM TODAY Wednesday, April 11th.

v  Tickets to the Spring Play, "Director's Dilemma," written by Tyler Salow, and "Noises Off!" are available in the High School Office.  $5 for Students, $10 for Adults.  3 performances - Friday, April 13 at 7 PM, Saturday, April 14 at 7 PM, and Sunday, April 15 at 2 PM.

v  Prom:  Juniors and Seniors - if your Prom guest does not go to West Delaware, you must sign them up in the High School Office.

v  Post Prom: Students interested in going to post prom need to sign-up in the office by Friday, April 13.

v  Post Prom t-shirt order forms are available in the office and are due back by TODAY Wednesday, April 11.

v  Post Prom: If you would like to ride the mechanical bull at Post Prom, please pick up a wavier in the HS office and return it by April 27th to the office or bring it with you to Post Prom.

v  Any current FBLA members interested in running for an officer position for the 2018-19 school year, should pick up an application form in Mrs. Bramel's room this week. Completed applications are due back to Mrs. Bramel by 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 12th. If you paid your annual dues, but have not yet picked up your FBLA t-shirt, please stop in and get it! The April chapter meetings will be on Wednesday, April 18th at 7:30 am and at 1:20 pm in Mrs. Bramel's room; All paid members, including those who did not compete at State, should attend during one of these meeting times.

v  ALEKS TESTING REMINDER: Students interested in college credit Statistics, PreCalculus, Calculus, Accounting I or Dosage Calculations for the 18-19 school year must have a qualifying ALEKS score by APRIL 13, 2018. Students must meet this deadline, NO EXCEPTIONS. Current Algebra II students will have one courtesy testing date in class. All other students will need to test on their own time. See the Counseling Office or any math teacher for further information.

v  UPCOMING ACT TESTING DATES: April 14th, June 9th and July 14th. Please see the Counseling Office for registration information and deadline dates.

v  SCHOLARSHIPS: Seniors - How is your quest going to conquer the scholarship world? Almost all local scholarships have been posted at this time. This is an awesome opportunity for you to take advantage of FREE money as you consider your future college/career options. To access scholarships go to the WD High School home page, click on School Counseling link on the left and scroll down to Check HERE to see a list of Scholarships.

v  SENIORS: Get out your phones and put this date in your calendar: SENIOR AWARDS NIGHT, Wednesday May 2nd at 7pm in Hanson Auditorium. This event is not only scholarships you have applied for, but also includes awards and recognitions that have no application process. You may have been nominated by someone at school or in the community to be honored! Your presence at this event is an opportunity to reap rewards, be surprised at unexpected recognition, and thank local community sponsors and volunteers for their support of you and your classmates. "Pay it forward" and support the community who sponsor awards and patron events for WD students!

v  JOB BOARD: There are local businesses and community members looking for high school students for help! These part time positions could lead to full time positions after high school. Also, your sponsor would be a great future reference for you as you apply for jobs, apply for scholarships and colleges, and not to mention looking great on your resume!

v  A representative from Iowa State University will be in the Counseling Office to meet with interested juniors or seniors on Monday, April 16th at 1:15.

v  Northeast Iowa Career Learning Link (CLL) is a program that exposes

students to high-demand career areas and sets them on the pathway to

career and educational success beyond high school. The program provides

work-based learning opportunities for students in partnership with local

businesses. Students are able to start enrolling in the program between the Spring Semester of their Sophomore year and the Fall Semester of their Junior year.  Students who are interested in joining the program or who are currently involved in the program may meet with Holly Maurer in the ICN Room on the following dates:
