Regular Schedule 

v  Iowa Assessment Make-Up Testing-  If you were absent for any part of Iowa Assessments that took place this past week, you will be called from class next Monday and Tuesday to complete the needed assessments.  Test schedule is as follows:

Monday, April 16th 9:45 am--Reading Test

Monday, April 16th 1:25 pm-- Math Test

Tuesday, April 17th 8:15 am-- Science Test

v  Students who requested to take, or are interested in taking a PICC class during terms 1 or 2 of the 2018-2019 school year need to complete the PICC/PSEO registration forms by Tuesday, May 15th.  Forms are located in the Counseling office and need to be returned to the Counseling office by this deadline.  No late forms will be accepted.  For any questions, please contact Mrs. Piersch in the Counseling Office.

v  SENIORS: Many of you have received scholarships and/or awards from your future schools or outside organizations. If you would like to be recognized for these accomplishments at Senior Awards Night on May 2nd under the "Other Scholarships" portion of the night, please e-mail Mrs. Goebel with your name by Friday, April 20th. It is not necessary for you to identify what award you have received.

v  Are you interested in running as a member or officer for Student Council next year? Grab a nomination form in the HS Office. Nomination forms are due Friday, April 27th.

v  Speech awards night will be Tuesday, April 17th. The evening will begin at 6:30 PM in the Commons with refreshment. At 7, we will move into the Auditorium for awards. Each grade is assigned an item to bring. Freshmen should bring cookies/bars, sophomores should bring crackers and cheese, and juniors should bring fruit. See Ms. Osborne with questions.

v  If you are interested in being a Cheerleader for Football this fall, please sign up in the High School Office.

v  The track clothing order has been reopened until TODAY 4-16-18. Order online at www.KTforms.com.  The new access code is WDHSTF2.

v  Prom:  Juniors and Seniors - if your Prom guest does not go to West Delaware, you must sign them up in the High School Office.

v  Post Prom: If you would like to ride the mechanical bull at Post Prom, please pick up a wavier in the HS office and return it by April 27th to the office or bring it with you to Post Prom.

v  UPCOMING ACT TESTING DATES: June 9th and July 14th. Please see the Counseling Office for registration information and deadline dates.

v  SCHOLARSHIPS: Seniors - How is your quest going to conquer the scholarship world? Almost all local scholarships have been posted at this time. This is an awesome opportunity for you to take advantage of FREE money as you consider your future college/career options. To access scholarships go to the WD High School home page, click on School Counseling link on the left and scroll down to Check HERE to see a list of Scholarships.

v  SENIORS: Get out your phones and put this date in your calendar: SENIOR AWARDS NIGHT, Wednesday May 2nd at 7pm in Hanson Auditorium. This event is not only scholarships you have applied for, but also includes awards and recognitions that have no application process. You may have been nominated by someone at school or in the community to be honored! Your presence at this event is an opportunity to reap rewards, be surprised at unexpected recognition, and thank local community sponsors and volunteers for their support of you and your classmates. "Pay it forward" and support the community who sponsor awards and patron events for WD students!

v  JOB BOARD: There are local businesses and community members looking for high school students for help! These part time positions could lead to full time positions after high school. Also, your sponsor would be a great future reference for you as you apply for jobs, apply for scholarships and colleges, and not to mention looking great on your resume!

v  A representative from Iowa State University will be in the Counseling Office to meet with interested juniors or seniors on Monday, April 16th at 1:15.

v  Northeast Iowa Career Learning Link (CLL) is a program that exposes

students to high-demand career areas and sets them on the pathway to

career and educational success beyond high school. The program provides

work-based learning opportunities for students in partnership with local

businesses. Students are able to start enrolling in the program between the Spring Semester of their Sophomore year and the Fall Semester of their Junior year.  Students who are interested in joining the program or who are currently involved in the program may meet with Holly Maurer in the ICN Room on the following dates:

Thursday, April 26, 12:30-3:30pm

Tuesday, May 1, 8:00-11:30am

Friday, May 11, 12:30-3:30pm

Tuesday, May 15, 8:00-11:30am
