1 Hour Hawk Time Schedule

 

v  If you are attending State Wrestling as a spectator, please stop in the High School Office and pick up a permission slip. Slips must be returned to the HS Office no later than the day before you are attending State Wrestling.

 

v  Friday is "Wear NEON day!" in celebration of Dance Marathon.

 

Tickets for Dance Marathon will be available for $5 at Lunch this whole week. They will be available for $8 at the door.

 

Students should bring $1 to Lunch if they would like to guess their teacher's baby pictures to help fundraise for Dance Marathon. Student with most correct guesses wins a $20 gift card.

 

v  FREE ACT PREP SESSION - Do you plan on taking the ACTs or retaking your ACTs? The ACT prep session may be the right choice for you! A FREE ACT prep session will be offered to West Delaware students on Monday, March 19th or Tuesday, March 20th from 5:30-9:00 PM. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and is mandatory. DEADLINE IS MARCH 8TH - NO EXCEPTIONS. Please see the High School Counseling Office for the registration form and further information. This does not sign you up for the actual ACT test. This is for the study session only.

 

v  FCA will meet Sunday, February 11th, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Community Church. We hope to see everyone there!

         

v  ALEKS TESTING REMINDER: Students interested in college credit Statistics, PreCalculus, Calculus, Accounting I or Dosage Calculations for the 18-19 school year must have a qualifying ALEKS score by APRIL 13, 2018. Students must meet this deadline, NO EXCEPTIONS. Current Algebra II students will have one courtesy testing date in class. All other students will need to test on their own time. See the Counseling Office or any math teacher for further information.

 

v  Financial Aid Night: The West Delaware High School Counseling Office is hosting a FREE presentation on financial aid for high school juniors and their parents. The presentation will be led by a representative from ICAN on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 5:30 in Hanson Auditorium.

 

v  If you did not order your yearbook at registration, it is not too late. Pick up an order form from Mrs. Temeyer or the high school office and order yours today! Order forms and full payment are due by February 9th!

 

v  CNA COURSE: NICC is offering a CNA class running April 3-May 2018. MANDATORY orientation is Tuesday, March 27th. Please see the Counseling Office if interested for more information.

 

v  UPCOMING ACT TESTING DATES: February 10th, April 14th, June 9th and July 14th. Please see the Counseling Office for registration information and deadline dates.

 

v  SENIORS - A lot of new SCHOLARSHIPS have been posted on the West Delaware Scholarship page. Please check back frequently as new ones will continually be posted as they become available. This is an awesome opportunity for you to take advantage of for FREE money as you are considering your future college/career options.

 

v  JOB BOARD: The Job Board has a new listing. Interested students may stop in the Counseling Office for further details.

 

v  A representative from Kirkwood will be in the High School Counseling TODAY Thursday, February 8th at 9:35.

 

v  A representative from Hawkeye will be in the Counseling Office on Monday, February 12th at 9:35 for any interested juniors or seniors.

 

v  A representative from NICC will be in the Counseling Office on Thursday, February 15th at 9:35 for any interested juniors or seniors.

 

v  A representative from Simpson College will be in the High School Counseling Office on Thursday, March 1st at 9:35 for any interested junior or senior.

 

v  Northeast Iowa Career Learning Link (CLL) is a program that exposes

students to high-demand career areas and sets them on the pathway to

career and educational success beyond high school. The program provides

work-based learning opportunities for students in partnership with local

businesses. Students are able to start enrolling in the program between the Spring Semester of their Sophomore year and the Fall Semester of their Junior year.  Students who are interested in joining the program or who are currently involved in the program may meet with Holly Maurer in the ICN Room on the following dates:
