v  All Boys and Girls going out for Bowling, please stop by the High School Office to pick up an informational letter regarding the first practice and a parent meeting.

--The United Nations has 6 official languages and 3 working languages.  French is in both of these categories.

--With each additional year of language study, standardized tests scores improve.  Studies showed gains of more than 100 points on math and verbal SAT scores.

--France is the 6th largest importer and exporter in the world.

The world speaks French . . . and so should you!

v  FRESHMEN- Freshmen meetings will take place on Monday, November 6th and Monday, November 13th in the High School Counseling Office. Please see rosters hanging by the high school office, lunch line and the counseling office for your designated time and date. Please be prompt to your assigned time! You do not need to bring anything with you.

v  Seniors: There is an order form for the class shirt in the office. Please have all order forms to Meghan Hoefer by TODAY Friday, November 3rd.

v  Blood Drive - Wednesday, November 8: Student Council will be hosting a Blood Drive from 8 AM to 1 PM in Seedorff Gymnasium. Please sign up in the HS Office for a time to donate. You must be at least 16 years old to donate (16 year olds will need a Permission Form that is available in the HS Office). On the 8th, you will need to bring a picture ID that shows your date of birth.

v  November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and November 14th is GO BLUE FOR DIABETES DAY. Please wear Blue on Tuesday, Nov. 14th to bring awareness to the diabetes pandemic.

v  Seniors: Are you checking out the High School Counseling website for scholarships? SCheck back frequently as new postings are being added as they become available.

v  Students: Don't forget to check out the Counseling Office's Job Board.

v  A representative from Mt. Mercy will be in the Counseling Office to meet with any interested junior or senior on Monday, November 6th at 9:35.

v  A representative from La James will be in the Counseling Office on Monday, November 6th at 1:15 for any interested junior or senior.

v  A representative from NICC will be in the counseling office on Thursday, November 9th at 1:15 for any interested junior or senior.

v  A representative from Iowa State University will be in the Counseling Office on Monday, November 13th at 1:15 to meet with any interested juniors or seniors.

v  Northeast Iowa Career Learning Link (CLL) is a program that exposes

students to high-demand career areas and sets them on the pathway to

career and educational success beyond high school. The program provides

work-based learning opportunities for students in partnership with local

businesses. Students are able to start enrolling in the program between the Spring Semester of their Sophomore year and the Fall Semester of their Junior year.  Students who are interested in joining the program or who are currently involved in the program may meet with Holly Maurer in the ICN Room on the following dates:
