Hawk Time Schedule 

v  All Seniors must attend Hawk Time today. There is a mandatory meeting regarding caps and gowns for graduation in the Auditorium.

v  If you are wanting to take the ALEKS placement test on Thursday this week, you need to sign up in the Library by the end of the school day today, Tuesday, October 7th. More information was emailed to all students yesterday. For additional questions, stop by the School Counseling Office.

v  YADC will be meeting at 5:00 p.m. TODAY Tuesday, November 7th in the High School commons

v  Those students going to the Thespian Festival at UNI this Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11, and those students who signed up to be a Thespian, need to attend a short meeting on Wednesday, November 8, at 1:15 PM in the High School Commons.

v  There will be a Basketball Cheerleading meeting on Thursday, October 9th at 3:00 p.m. in the HS commons 

v  Art Club will be starting up this month. The first Meeting will be held after school TODAY Tuesday, October 7th, in the Art Room. If you cannot attend please PT or sign up out side of her door.

v  ACT: The next testing date for ACT is on December 9, 2017. Late registration (with fee) is open until November 17th. Please see the counseling office for further information. The next following test dates are: February 10, April 14, June 9 and July 14, 2018.

v  Be sure to follow @WestDelInklings on Twitter and the West Delaware Facebook page for new articles and photos taken! Frequently check our website www.westdelawareinklings.com for new articles. "Three Strikes and You're Out" is article written by Paighton Lindauer about Dylan Linderwell suffering three concussions and taking on a student coaching position. Also look for Tyler Salow's article "From Spain to America: a Journey of Differences" regarding the school's foreign exchange student Laia Lopez Rigol.

v  FRESHMEN- Freshmen meetings will take place Monday, November 13th in the High School Counseling Office. Please see rosters hanging by the high school office, lunch line and the counseling office for your designated time and date. Please be prompt to your assigned time! You do not need to bring anything with you.

v  Blood Drive - Wednesday, November 8: Student Council will be hosting a Blood Drive from 8 AM to 1 PM in Seedorff Gymnasium. Please sign up in the HS Office for a time to donate. You must be at least 16 years old to donate (16 year olds will need a Permission Form that is available in the HS Office). On the 8th, you will need to bring a picture ID that shows your date of birth.

v  November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and November 14th is GO BLUE FOR DIABETES DAY. Please wear Blue on Tuesday, Nov. 14th to bring awareness to the diabetes pandemic.

v  Seniors: Are you checking out the High School Counseling website for scholarships? Check back frequently as new postings are being added as they become available.

v  Students: Don't forget to check out the Counseling Office's Job Board.

v  A representative from NICC will be in the counseling office on Thursday, November 9th at 1:15 for any interested junior or senior.

v  A representative from Iowa State University will be in the Counseling Office on Monday, November 13th at 1:15 to meet with any interested juniors or seniors.

v  Northeast Iowa Career Learning Link (CLL) is a program that exposes

students to high-demand career areas and sets them on the pathway to

career and educational success beyond high school. The program provides

work-based learning opportunities for students in partnership with local

businesses. Students are able to start enrolling in the program between the Spring Semester of their Sophomore year and the Fall Semester of their Junior year.  Students who are interested in joining the program or who are currently involved in the program may meet with Holly Maurer in the ICN Room on the following dates:
