1 Hour Hawk Time Schedule 

v  Mr. Felderman has become aware of various inappropriate actions occurring in the boy’s restroom near the HS office. Please remember that the use of this restroom is a privilege and not a right. If various actions continue, this restrroom will be shutdown and other boy’s restrooms will need to be used.

v  Blood Drive - Wednesday, November 8: Student Council will be hosting a Blood Drive from 8 AM to 1 PM in Seedorff Gymnasium. Please sign up in the HS Office for a time to donate. You must be at least 16 years old to donate (16 year olds will need a Permission Form that is available in the HS Office). On the 8th, you will need to bring a picture ID that shows your date of birth. 

v  Students that applied for membership to NHS should be receiving a letter indicating acceptance or denial.  These letters were mailed out to all applicants on Monday.  Any student that was denied membership may appeal the decision made by the NHS Faculty Council.  Letters of appeal must be turned in to Mrs. Hermsen by 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1st.  If you are planning to appeal, please see Mrs. Hermsen as soon as possible for additional information that should be included in your letter. 

v  Students who are currently scheduled for, or are interested in taking a PICC/PSEO class durring terms 3 or 4 of the 2017-2018 school year need to complete the PICC/PSEO registration forms by Wednesday, November 1st.  Forms are located in the Counseling office and need to be returned to the Counseling office by this deadline.  No late forms will be accepted.  For any questions, please contact Mrs. Piersch in the Counseling Office. 

v  ALL SPEECH STUDENTS THAT ARE ATTENDING FRIDAY NIGHT’S GAME are required to help clean up after the game. Please see Ms. Osborne if you have a conflict.

v  Speech students can sign up to work Friday's concession stand in the Library. See Ms. Osborne with questions.

v  ACT IMPORTANT NOTICE: For those students who are signed up to take the ACT on Saturday, October 28th, at West Delaware, you must have your ticket, photo ID and your name on the test roster. The name on the ticket, photo ID and roster must all match.

v  Students who need to change their Term 2 schedules have until Tuesday, October 31st. Please see the Counseling Office for assistance.

v  November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and November 14th is GO BLUE FOR DIABETES DAY. Please wear Blue on Tuesday, Nov. 14th to bring awareness to the diabetes pandemic.

v  We are looking for high school volunteers to help with an organized child care called "Kids Place" in the Lambert commons during parent/teacher conferences.  This will happen on Wednesday and Thursday, November 1st and 2nd from 2:30-6:30 each day. The young kids LOVE having high school volunteers.  If you are interested in helping, please sign up outside Mrs. Bramel’s door (Room 204).

v  Seniors: Are you checking out the High School Counseling website for scholarships? Check back frequently as new postings are being added as they become available.

v  Competitive? Like Science? West Delaware is gathering a team to compete against other schools in the Science Bowl. Contact Mrs. May for more details.

v  Students: Don't forget to check out the Counseling Office's Job Board.

v  A representative from Mt. Mercy will be in the Counseling Office to meet with any interested junior or senior on Monday, November 6th at 9:35.

v  A representative from La James will be in the Counseling Office on Monday, November 6th at 1:15 for any interested junior or senior.

v  A representative from NICC will be in the counseling office on Thursday, November 9th at 1:15 for any interested junior or senior.

v  Northeast Iowa Career Learning Link (CLL) is a program that exposes

students to high-demand career areas and sets them on the pathway to

career and educational success beyond high school. The program provides

work-based learning opportunities for students in partnership with local

businesses. Students are able to start enrolling in the program between the Spring Semester of their Sophomore year and the Fall Semester of their Junior year.  Students who are interested in joining the program or who are currently involved in the program may meet with Holly Maurer in the ICN Room on the following dates:
