Hawk Time Schedule 

v  FRENCH STUDENTS: Augustana College in Rock Island, IL is hosting a "French Day" on Sunday, September 24th.  French students and teachers from middle school to college are invited to attend.  There will be conversational activities and French games, and all are encouraged to bring French-themed treats.  If you are interested, stop by Mrs. Sandberg's room (#250) to pick up an info sheet and return your signed parental permission form by the end of the day on Wednesday, September 20th at latest.  There are a limited number of spots, and it's first come, first serve, so if you'd like to go, get your form returned as promptly as possible 

v  The Youth Association For Disabled Citizens (YADC) will be meeting Wednesday, September 13th at 1:15 in the commons.  If you are interested in learning about disabilities and seeing how people are able to change their disability into an ability, this is the group for you to join.  Activities include helping at Camp Courageous, supporting the WD Special Olympic participants, gaining insight into how service animals are trained, etc..  Come and see what we are about.  If you are unable to attend, please stop in the high school office and sign up.  We will contact you. 

v  Teens Against Drugs & Alcohol (TADA) will be meeting on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 1:15 in Room 210.  Please join us on Wednesday Sept 13 to start planning Homecoming & Red Ribbon Week activities!

v  Homecoming Button Design Contest - Anyone wishing to design the 2017 Homecoming Button should submit their design to the HS Office by Tuesday, September 12. All entries will be voted on by the Student Body during lunchtime on Wednesday, September 13. The winner will receive 2 tickets to the Homecoming Dance and the second place winner will receive 1 ticket to the Homecoming Dance from Student Council. Entry Forms are available in the HS Office.

v  JUNIORS: If you are in the top 20% of your class, you may want to take the PSAT test. The pre-SAT test gives you the opportunity to earn scholarships depending on your score. The test is Wednesday morning, October 11th. The cost is $16 and we only have 10 seats available on a first come, first serve basis. Payment is due at the time of registration, and we have official student study guides and practice test packets for you, upon registration. Sign up with the fee in the Guidance Office by Monday, October 2nd.

v  JUNIORS: For those who turned in their permission forms and bar codes, this is a reminder the UNI/Hawkeye College Fair is on Tuesday, September 12th. Report to your first hour class and then you will be dismissed at approximately 8:30.

v  A representative from Aveda will be in the Counseling Office on Thursday, September 14th at 9:35 to meet with any interested juniors or seniors.

v  A representative from Iowa Central will be in the Counseling Office on Monday, September 18th at 9:35 for any interested junior or senior.

v  A representative from Kirkwood will be in the Counseling Office on Thursday, September 21st at 9:35 for interested juniors and seniors.

v  A representative from Upper Iowa will be in the Counseling Office on Thursday, September 28th at 1:15 to meet with any interested junior or senior.

v  A representative from UNI will be in the counseling office Monday, October 9th at 1:15 pm to meet with any interested juniors or seniors.

v  A representative from Hawkeye will be in the Counseling Office on Thursday, October 19th at 1:15 for any interested junior or senior.

v  A representative from Mt. Mercy will be in the Counseling Office to meet with any interested junior or senior on Monday, November 6th at 9:35.

v  A representative from La James will be in the Counseling Office on Monday, November 6th at 1:15 for any interested junior or senior.

v  Northeast Iowa Career Learning Link (CLL) is a program that exposes

students to high-demand career areas and sets them on the pathway to

career and educational success beyond high school. The program provides

work-based learning opportunities for students in partnership with local

businesses. Students are able to start enrolling in the program between the Spring Semester of their Sophomore year and the Fall Semester of their Junior year.  Students who are interested in joining the program or who are currently involved in the program may meet with Holly Maurer in the ICN Room on the following dates:
