Hawk Time Schedule

GENERAL

  • Seniors, the next month and a half will go quickly. Please email your senior photo to Mrs. Temeyer by November 1st 2016. This image will be used in the yearbook and in the May issue of the Manchester Press.
  • For those juniors who are attending the UNI/Hawkeye College Fair on Tuesday, September 13th, be sure to have your school picture taken before 8:15. Then, go to your first block class for attendance. You will be dismissed to board the bus by the intercom.
  • Deadline for October 22nd ACT sign up is September 16th. See Guidance for further details.
  • Homecoming Powderpuff Volleyball will be Monday of Homecoming Week - next Monday, September 19 at 7:00 PM. Get an Entry Form for your team from the High School Office.  Entry Forms are due back this Thursday, September 15, by 3:00 PM.
  • Homecoming Button Design Contest - Anyone wishing to design the 2016 Homecoming Button should submit their design to the HS Office by TODAY, September 13.  All entries will be voted on by the Student Body during lunchtime on Wednesday, September 14.  The winner will receive 2 tickets to the Homecoming Dance and the second place winner will receive 1 ticket to the Homecoming Dance from Student Council.  Entry Forms are available in the HS Office.
  • Picture day is TODAY September 13th. Schedules are posted outside the High School Office, Central Office, and by the lunch line. All students are encouraged to get their picture taken even if you are not ordering any. We need the pictures for the yearbook. Seniors, if you are not having Senior Pictures taken, please get a picture taken here at school. You will receive your picture packet from your Advisor on Friday during Hawk Time.
  • All students - Have you seen the job opportunities board in Guidance? Come check out what local businesses are offering for employment. Check back often for new postings!
  • The  YADC (Youth Association for Disabled Citizens) is being organized.  If you are interested in learning about the many forms of disabilities, helping students involved in Special Olympics, visiting Camp Courageous and a variety of other activities, then this is the group for you to join.  We meet monthly and explore your interests.  There is a sign-up sheet on the counter in the office.  Please stop in and join an exciting group.

UPCOMING MEETINGS/EVENTS at WD

  • Student council will meet on Wednesday September 14th and Wednesday September 21st at 7:20am in the High School Librar 
  • West Delaware FCA is having a kickoff party on Saturday, September 17th, 2016 at 6:30 pm at the Winkowitsh residence. Please bring a snack and a drink. They will be grilling out and having a fire.
  •  YADC (Youth Association for Disabled Citizens) will be meeting Monday morning, September 12th, at 7:45 A.M. in room 107.  If you are unable to attend please e-mail Mrs. Resor.  Our first activity this year is the Fall Festival at Camp Courageous.
  • All student council members, 9-12 - will have a student council meeting September 14th at 7:20 in the HS Media Center
  • Members of NHS, Student Council, and FBLA:   Volunteers for mentoring are needed at Lambert for one hour on early out Wednesdays starting on September 14th.   Please let your advisor know as soon as possible if you are planning to attend.
  • A representative from UNI will be in Guidance on Monday, September 19th at 1:15 for any interested juniors or senior 
  • A representative from LaJames International will be in Guidance to meet with interested juniors and seniors on Monday, September 19th at 9:35
  • A representative from Iowa Central will be in Guidance to meet with interested juniors and seniors on Monday, September 26th at 9:35.
  • A representative from Mt. Mercy will be in Guidance on Thursday, September 29th at 9:35.
