Early Dismissal Schedule


We are running an early dismissal schedule but WE ARE NOT OUT EARLY! You are required to stay all day to participate in Homecoming decorating activities. Attendance will be taken. Seniors if you have 4th hour open or Service Experience out of the building, you need to stay at school for 4th hour. 

v  ALL seniors can bring in their senior jeans for student judging next week! Jeans have to be turned in by Wednesday morning to Mrs. Huehnergarth. Jeans will be displayed int he commons on Wednesday and Thursday for judging. The winner will be announced at the pep rally on Friday and given a small prize!

v  Juniors and seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply for membership the West Delaware National Honor Society.  Every eligible member will be receiving a letter with application instructions.  Current senior members do NOT need to reapply.  The application is posted on the high school activities page.  There will be 2 informational meetings for students who are planning to apply.  The meetings will be held in Mrs. Hermsen's room (234) on Thursday, September 28th at 7:30 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. The meeting will take approximately 15-20 minutes and the same information will be presented at both meetings. Deadline for applying is Thursday, October 5th.  Please see Mrs. Hermsen if you have any questions. 

v  New and current FBLA members, please pick up your Midland Fundraising catalogs & order forms today in Ms. Bramel's room! This fundraiser is open for 2 weeks only so please start selling to earn funds to offset the cost for attending the State Leadership Conference in March 2018.

v  SENIORS: Modules 1 & 2 of Financial Literacy are due TODAY Friday, September 22nd 

v  There are Pink Out Volleyball t-shirt order forms in the office. They are due back to the High School by TODAY Friday, September 22nd.

v  Sign-up sheets for Homecoming Powderpuff Volleyball can be picked up in the High School Office and returned to Ms. Osborne by Monday September 25th.

v  The registration deadline for October 28, 2017 ACT test is TODAY September 22nd. Please see the counseling office for further information if interested.

v   YADC. We will be having our first large group meeting on Tuesday, October 3rd. at 6:00 p.m..  Bring ideas for our shirts this year and activities that you wish to do.  Everybody is welcome.

v  Students: Don't forget to check out the Counseling Office's Job Board. A new posting has been added. 

v  JUNIORS: If you are in the top 20% of your class, you may want to take the PSAT test. The pre-SAT test gives you the opportunity to earn scholarships depending on your score. The test is Wednesday morning, October 11th. The cost is $16 and we only have 10 seats available on a first come, first serve basis. Payment is due at the time of registration, and we have official student study guides and practice test packets for you, upon registration. Sign up with the fee in the Guidance Office by Monday, October 2nd.

v  A representative from St. Ambrose will in the Counseling Office on Thursday, September 21st at 1:15 for any interested junior or senior.

v  A representative from Upper Iowa will be in the Counseling Office on Thursday, September 28th at 1:15 to meet with any interested junior or senior.

v  A representative from UNI will be in the counseling office Monday, October 9th at 1:15 pm to meet with any interested juniors or seniors.

v  A representative from Hawkeye will be in the Counseling Office on Thursday, October 19th at 1:15 for any interested junior or senior.

v  A representative from Mt. Mercy will be in the Counseling Office to meet with any interested junior or senior on Monday, November 6th at 9:35.

v  A representative from La James will be in the Counseling Office on Monday, November 6th at 1:15 for any interested junior or senior.

v  Northeast Iowa Career Learning Link (CLL) is a program that exposes

students to high-demand career areas and sets them on the pathway to

career and educational success beyond high school. The program provides

work-based learning opportunities for students in partnership with local

businesses. Students are able to start enrolling in the program between the Spring Semester of their Sophomore year and the Fall Semester of their Junior year.  Students who are interested in joining the program or who are currently involved in the program may meet with Holly Maurer in the ICN Room on the following dates:
