5th Grade Solo Contest

The 5th grade students had the opportunity to participate in our Middle School Solo Contest Thursday, April 19th or Monday, April 23rd. The students had their solos and have been working on them for two months in lessons. This is not something I required of the students to participate in but I did strongly suggest they give it a try. The opportunity for your child to play with a pianist and in front of a judge can be very beneficial. The judge gave them great feedback as to how we can continue to improve him/her as a player. This was not a contest against anyone else, purely for individual ratings of “Good”, “Excellent”, “Superior” , or "Highly Superior" and the critiques.

The contest was held in the “B Wing” of the Middle School. We ran 3 centers and had great reprensentation from both grade levels. The 5th grade ratings were as such.
